A great course for those who know how to thread their sewing machine - but not much else! Basic stitches, how to hem, putting in zips, buttons and button holes all leading up to making a skirt!

About the event

Over 4 nights, learn an amazing array of the basics that will help you get your sewing ambitions underway!

Guided by the amazing Wendy Turner - who's worked with the like of McQueen, Ralph & Russo, Roland Mouret, M&S Twiggy - as well as her experience as Lecturer at London College of Fashion, University of Southampton & Winchester School of Art.

This course is £75 over the four nights - and includes tea/coffee and some snacks to help your evening go well!

You need to bring a (and be able to thread) a sewing machine, as well as:-

  • a tape measure
  • thread/bobbins and pins
  • propelling pencil and rubber
  • pen
  • For week three and four you'll also need 1m of pattern paper or wallpaper lining paper, fabric (check with Wendy how much), thread and 9 inch zip colour matched to your material.
